Sin City’s Clive Owen has defended the casting of fellow British actor Daniel Craig for the role of Bond, James Bond.

Daniel Craig has taken over the Bond reigns from Irishman Pierce Brosnan who had the infamous role for three of the Bond series movies.

Owen was another actor slated to play the part of the suave spy, but is overjoyed for Craig & insists that he is thrilled that a “proper actor” has been cast as 007.  A slight on Brosnan?

Owen states, “I think when Craig first took the part he got a pretty rough ride, which to a certain extent is inevitable because there are so many different people who have so many different ideas about something like that. You are never going to please everybody.

“The thing that is really exciting is that he is a proper actor. He is not shallow or posing. They have cast a really serious actor and I think that when the film comes out everyone will see what a great choice he was.”

Wow.  Seems like the English still have a grudge for the Irish.

Hollywood veteran Jane Fonda appeared on Access Hollywood last night to offer Georgia Rule costar Lindsay Lohan some much needed advice.

When questioned about her experience working with the teen queen Fonda revealed, “…Lindsay — who I love dearly — she’s Lindsay Lohan. I just want to take her in my arms and hold her until she’s grown up. She’s so young, so young and she’s so alone out there in the world in terms of structure and people to nurture her.

“She is so talented…oh my gosh she can access emotion like nothing. And she just makes me cry. She made me cry a lot and when she was on the set she was really good, it’s going to be a good movie.”
 
On Lohan’s well-documented tardiness & partying Jane said, “She parties all the time …you know she’s young and she can get away with it. You know it’s hard after a while to party very hard and work very hard. She’ll learn that.”

“I think every once in a while a very, very young person who is burning both ends of the candle needs to have somebody say, ‘You know your going to pay the piper — you better slow down,’ so I think it was good.”

Fonda’s last piece of advice for Lohan, “I’d want to say to her that this is not a dress rehearsal. This is it. If you blow it, you don’t get a second chance.”

I think Jane’s last nugget of wisdom for Lindsay should have been to wear panties in  public or suffer the firecrotch pubic.

Jennifer Aniston is to join the ranks of Nike spokespersons.  Aniston is reportedly in talks with the sports giant for a multi-million dollar deal that will include a coveted advertising spot during the Super Bowl in February. 

The 37-year-old hottie will be donating the majority of her fee to cancer charities.  Maybe I can submit a few more charities for Aniston to consider.  I’m thinking a Support Your Bloggers Charity has a nice ring to it…

Jennifer is a natural choice for Nike, given her avid jogging around her Malibu home which is regularly photographed for us & the tabloids.

Interestingly, Eminem announced earlier this week about his limited-edition trainers for Nike whose proceeds will be going toward charities in native Michigan.

You know, given the right opportunity (& cash) I could invent a whole new line for Nike, starting with underwater running & basket-weaving trainers.
