The band was forced to postpone their gig at KROQ’s annual Weenie Roast.
The boys, including Anthony Kiedis, were already at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre for their Saturday performance when he experienced “extreme stomach pain,” a representative shares to Billboard.
The rest – Smith, Flea, and Josh Klinghoffer – went onstage to apologize.
“We will play for you very soon, we will play for you like the feral animals that we are, and we’re so sorry,” Flea says.
The emergency prompted the Peppers to cancel another performance:
“Due to Anthony Kiedis’ hospitalization from complications from the intestinal flu on Saturday evening, the Red Hot Chili Peppers regretfully must postpone their upcoming concert for iHeart Radio on May 17th,” they shared last Sunday.
Get well, soon!
