Tareq and Michaele Salahi may have drawn notice to themselves when they managed to crash a White House party, but Bravo executives have been less than impressed with couple, announcing their departure from Real Housewives of DC.
Bravo bosses has hoped that the couple could bring in big ratings for the show, instead it’s been nothing but a public relations nightmare for the network.
“The DC show is the only show in the entire franchise that isn’t a true hit, and the Salahi’s are the biggest reason for that. At first, execs thought they struck gold with all the attention the couple got over the White House dinner. But now they realize not all press is good press and this couple’s involvement in the show has turned more viewers off than on.”
The Salahi’s in true Salahi fashion have lashed out at Bravo, saying they have “iron-clad” contracts from Bravo that makes it impossible for them to talk about how they crashed the State Dinner, a story they say they want to tell. On the other side Bravo released this statement:
“The notion that the Salahis have been barred under their contracts relating to The Real Housewives of D.C. from speaking about their attendance at the White House State Dinner is simply not true. From the time of the incident until now, Bravo and Half Yard Productions, the producer of the series, have consistently and repeatedly stated to the Salahis and their representatives that they were free to speak to press, law enforcement, Congress and anyone else about attending the State Dinner. Indeed, they have given multiple press interviews on that very subject.”
Tareq and Michaele are currently doing the rounds for their book Cirque du Salahi, yeah I know, it’s a really dumb title for a book.
