Seriously Injured ‘Transformers 3’ Extra Suing Paramount Pictures

Gabriella Cedillo, The ‘Transformers 3‘ extra who was injured on the set of the movie is suing Paramount Pictures. Adolfo Romo, the victims brother, told RadarOnline.com that she is suing after becoming paralyzed on the left side of her body.

“We filed a case this morning in Chicago and made a request for a jury trial,” Todd A. Smith, the attorney for Cedillo told RadarOnline.com.

According to her attorney she is paralyzed on her left side, can’t speak and has partial loss of vision in her left eye. To prevent paralysis issues with her eye, doctors have chosen to sew it shut to keep the eye from drying out.

The lawsuit states that Cedillo is a “disabled person” because of the accident and that she “assumed no risk of injury in performing her duties as an extra on the Transformers 3 movie set.”

‘Transformers 3’ Extra In Critical Condition After On-Set Accident

Transformers Extra Injured During Filming

An “extra” on the set of Transformers 3 was injured and then promptly hospitalized in Indiana when a stunt went wrong during shooting earlier this week. The extra, Garbriela Cedillo is listed in critical condition.

According to PopCrunch:

Authorities in the Chicago suburb of Hammond, Indiana say the crew was filming scenes in Lake County late Wednesday using several vehicles and drivers when something went awry and an object went sailing through the windshield of one of the vehicles, striking the driver, Gabriela Cedillo, 24.

Cedillo is said to have suffered serious head injuries when she was hit during a stunt that included several vehicles.  The car hit a barrier made of concrete and was then dragged for a short distance before coming to a stop.

“The cable between the two vehicles broke,” another extra told Chicago ABC affiliate WLS-TV while adding “It whipped around and sliced through the woman’s car and sliced through her skull, apparently.”

Our thoughts go out to Cedillo’s family.

Okay so maybe that’s not exactly the case, but officials have denied a request by Transformers 3 Director Michael Bay to shoot a scene just steps away from the White House at the National Mall.

Megan Fox Quit Transformers 3 Over Weight Issues?

Depending on whom you believe, Megan Fox either quit Paramount’s Transformers 3 project, which was to begin production this month, or the studio decided not to pick up her option. Maybe there’s a little of both going on here, but only a few parties know the truth of which came first.

Now considering that Fox said all sorts of negative things about Transformers director Michael Bay, including comparing him to Hitler during a magazine interview in 2009, it wouldn’t be surprising if he and Paramount changed their mind and went with another star. However, TheWrap is saying that numerous other actresses have also had issues with Bay in the past, including Kate Beckinsale and Isabel Lucas. The Sun is saying that Fox and Bay had a big fight about her weight. It seems that she had lost a lot more weight than Bay was comfortable with, and possibly gave her an ultimatum about gaining some weight if she wanted to part of Transformers 3. Fox also recently told Allure magazine that Bay didn’t like her skin tone, but as a result of the tanning she did, she was not going to do it again due to fear of skin cancer. When you factor in Fox’s obsessive-compulsive tendencies and Bay’s reputed controlling behavior, it probably doesn’t make for a good mix. And even if the Transformers franchise did well (for being based on a toy) and made Fox’s name, she has tons of work right now. Ultimately, it doesn’t really matter whether she quit or Bay didn’t want her.

Megan Fox Not Hot Enough for Transformers 3?

Yesterday I went on at length about how hot Megan Fox is, despite her really weird OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) issues. Like hating germs but being a slob. But it looks like director Michael Bay doesn’t think she’s all that and won’t have her reprising her role as Shia LaBeouf’s character’s love interest, Mikaela Barnes, on Transformers 3. Actually, the real story is either that Bay is getting back at Fox for comparing him to Hitler and saying he’s a nightmare to work for and that he has no social skills, or that she decided to leave the Transformers franchise on her own.

Looks as if both Transformers stars have a tendency to bite the hand that feeds. Shia LaBeouf made comments about Transformers 2 and the last Indiana Jones film. Fox’s comments about Bay had to do with her feelings that he pushed her towards over-tanning, which result in her skin having a sort of orange quality. Bay had warned Fox about what working on Transformers 3 would be like:

“P.S. Megan Fox, welcome back. I promise no alien robots will harm you in any way during the production of this motion picture. Please consult your Physician when working under my direction because some side effects can occur, such as mild dizziness, intense nausea, suicidal tendencies, depression, minor chest hair growth, random internal hemorrhaging and inability to sleep. As some directors may be hazardous to your health, please consult your Doctor to determine if this is right for you.” [Source: Deadline]

Gemma Arterton (Clash of the Titans, Prince of Persia, Quantum of Solace) is possibly a front runner as a Transformers 3 replacement for Fox, though probably as a different character. She does have a mild resemblance to Fox, though Megan’s eyes have the same kind of feral, don’t screw with me quality that Angelina Jolie’s eyes have.

Fox’s last movie, 2009’s Jennifer’s Body skunked at the theaters, with less than a $17M domestic take, but she has a pretty busy schedule for 2010-11. Even without Transformers 3, she has six other projects in different stages of production. Jonah Hex and Passion Play are out this year, The Leaving, The Crossing, and Red Sonja are scheduled for 2011 release dates. She’s not the lead in Red Sonja, but given that it’s a “Conan the Barbarian” offshoot story, she’ll no doubt be doing in it what she does best: being scantily clad.
