Professional jackass Simon Cowell is on his way out the door of American Idol but no one knows who’ll be replacing him in season 10. Idol producers seem to think there’ll be tons of free publicity from summertime speculation about his replacement. Well sorry, I won’t be tweeting about it. Seriously, anyone is better than this irritating idiot, who gets paid big bucks to be a jerkwad and send people into years of therapy. If the show wants to go kinder, gentler, maybe Betty White has some time left between all her guest appearances and her new sitcom Hot in Cleveland. Or if they want to stay within the realm of Cowell’s character, maybe celebrity assh*le Dr. Phil can take over. He could simultaneously make contestants feel like crap and then counsel them on how to improve themselves.

“Everybody Hurts” For Haiti
Simon Cowell’s Haiti single beat Lionel Richie’s—at least when it comes to the release date. While “We Are The World” just wrapped up last Monday, “Everybody Hurts” is already out on Youtube.
The featured artists are a mix of American and British musicians, including: Leona Lewis, Mariah Carey, Jon Bon Jovi, Robbie Williams, Kylie, Rod Stewart, Alexandra Burke, Miley Cyrus, Take That, Joe McElderry, Cheryl Cole, JLS, Mika, Michael Bublé, James Blunt, James Morrison, Susan Boyle, and Westlife.
According to the official website of the single, “Everybody Hurts” will be available for download on the 7th of February and the CD will be released the day after. All proceeds will go to the victims of the Haiti earthquake.
Which single would you purchase, “We Are The World” or “Everybody Hurts”?
Another Song For Haiti
It looks like Lionel Richie isn’t the only one who’s producing a star-studded song to benefit Haiti earthquake victims. American Idol’s Simon Cowell is organizing a celebrity record as well.
“We are going to do a single. I wanted to do something for Haiti, and we had a request from the Prime Minister to put a record together,” he told reporters at the National Television Awards in London last Wednesday.
He is working with singers such as Susan Boyle, Michael Bublé, Rod Stewart, and Leona Lewis to sing REM’s ballad “Everybody Hurts.” Just like Lionel Richie’s upcoming “We Are The World” remake, all proceeds of Simon’s production will go to Haiti earthquake victims.

Idol’s 9th Life Takes New Twists
America’s number one TV show, American Idol began its ninth season last Tuesday, and three notable changes have gotten everyone talking.
1. Paula’s out. She left the show before the ninth season began, sighting “contract negotiation problems.” Let me refer to that old saying, “You never really know what you got ‘til it’s gone” or something like that. We miss Paula Abdul’s good-hearted opinions and unintentional comic relief that Kara DioGuardi could never provide.
2. Ellen’s in. The talk show host is the official replacement of Paula, and although she has no background whatsoever in music (except maybe for her regular dance routines on her talk show), Ellen Degeneres promises to give “a layman’s point of view to the show.” It was disappointing though that she wasn’t part of the panel of judges during the initial audition rounds. Instead, guest judges such as Mary J. Blige, Shania Twain, Victoria Beckham, Neil Patrick Harris, Kristin Chenoweth, Joe Jonas, and Katy Perry took the fourth seat.
3. Simon’s leaving. Yes, the infamous AI judge is taking a bow after this season to focus on the American version of X-Factor. Simon Cowell created the popular talent show for Britain, and now he’s taking it to the US. Simon will be busy producing and judging X-Factor for Fox in 2011. “I wanted to do something different,” he said. “I wanted a new challenge.” Will AI ever find a suitable replacement for the brutally honest judge? I doubt it. Other copycat reality talent shows have tried and failed.
AI fans, what do you think about Simon’s plans of ditching the show? Are you looking forward to Ellen as the new Paula?
Simon Cowell Highest Earning Man On TV
Eat your heart out Donald Trump! Simon Cowell has been named the highest earning guy on TV by Forbes, which reported that last year, he earned a whopping $75 million! Thanks to the millions of American Idol fans, I should say.
