It took four days of testimony but Robert O’Ryan, the man who had been stalking Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson was found guilty and legally insane.
Judge Michael Pastor found O’Ryan guilty on two misdemeanor concealed weapons charges, as well as burglary and felony stalking. The insanity judgment will place O’Ryan in a state mental hospital, rather than jail.
Johnson’s stalker was arrested in March on the studio lot where Johnson was preparing for her role on the popular Dancing With The Stars television series. O’Ryan drove from Florida to Los Angeles to meet the gymnast and arrived with a shotgun, handgun and knife hidden in his vehicle.
