It’s not as big a Kim Kardashian’s engagement ring, but Priscilla Chan showed off her ring anyway. The 27-year-old wife of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg was seen out for a lunch inPalo Alto,California. And for the first time, the public got to see the ruby ring that Mark reportedly designed for her.
Some jewelers were reluctant to suggest a price tag for ring but one expert said that although simple, a “safe estimate” would probably be around $25,000. The jeweler added that the ruby could go from $8,000-10,000 alone.
Mrs. Zuckerberg was photographed at their neighborhood so it seems like they have not embarked on a honeymoon yet or if they did, it was probably brief and simple.
Mark Zuckerberg who married his girlfriend for 9 years on his backyard last Saturday presented the ring to Priscilla at the wedding for the very first time. Although the gemstone is considered cheaper than the usual diamond, Mark must have picked it up for its cultural significance. Rubies held high esteem to Asian countries and on that category, Zuckerberg must have been thoughtful about it since Priscilla is Asian-American.
