Britain’s second in line to the throne touched down in Australia last Tuesday for a three-day visit. His activities include immersing in the country’s culture and listening to Australian music such as Susan Boyle and Kylie Minogue, reports Digital Spy.
January 20, 2010: Prince William greets the public at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney on the second day of his unofficial visit to Australia.
This official visit stems from an invitation by the local Australian government to get to know the country better. The last time Prince William has been to Australia was during a tour with his late mother, Princess Diana, back when he was a toddler.
“Prince William is visiting Australia after traveling to New Zealand to officially open the new Supreme Court in Wellington,” said the Australian Prime Minister in an official statement. “During his visit, Prince William will focus on his core interests of supporting servicemen and women, helping young people fulfill their potential, and sustainable development in the light of climate change. The prince will also use the visit to learn more about local indigenous issues and visit the bushfire-ravaged countryside in Victoria.”
And how have the Australians reacted to his princely visit? According to this Telegraph article, the 27-year-old prince seems to be charming the pants off the locals.
