This is what happens when reality TV gets too old. We start getting reality TV recyclers—the ones who keep auditioning and keep joining. They already know the ropes of reality TV life, so everything about them is phony and packaged, just for the sake of getting famous.
Remember Nicci Nix of this season’s American Idol? She came in with a high-pitched, heavily accented voice, and claimed she was originally from Italy and traveled for 14 hours from Germany to Colorado for the AI auditions. She won the judges over with her surprisingly good singing. “You sing so much deeper than you talk,” Simon Cowell said, after which everyone else gave her the thumbs up.
Turns out she’s a phony. Thanks to my very resourceful buddies at TMZ, they found out that she’s been in other reality TV shows before, using different names, accents, and personalities.
Here she is as Nicole in Making The Band. Notice the regular American accent.
Then for Fear Factor, she was California girl Nicci Palmeri, a recording artist singing in a different pitch.
I did some research of my own and found out that she’s already done some music videos and singles in the past as part of her pursuit for fame. Check out her official Myspace account here. For her videos, she did the Lady Gaga approach using another voice pitch.
I wonder what AI is going to do with her now? Well, she does deserve an award for fooling everyone with her different masks. Nicci darling, you should move to musical theater!
