The claim by the wife of NFL Hall of Famer linebacker Lawrence ‘LT’ Taylor that her husband had been set up might in fact be true. The alleged victim, a 16 year-old, is now apparently admitting that she told the football player that she was 19 — in other words, legal.
Taylor, who has been arrested and charged for third-degree (statutory) rape and “patronizing a prostitute”, is said to have paid the girl $300. The girl is now claiming that her suspected pimp, Rasheed Davis, told her to say she was 19. Taylor’s 3rd wife Lynette thinks the arrest is a setup and feels the timing is suspect, happening right after the airing of an A&E documentary, Fame and Recovery, that makes him look bad.
So, what’s happening here? If Lynette’s story is true, was it the girl’s pimp that had some beef against LT? A conviction means that Taylor could spend up to five years in jail — something that someone with a beef against him could claim as a victory. Now while police did a find a condom in the hotel room, there’s no evidence that Taylor had anything to do with the girl’s black eye.
