Another young soul gone. Tyler Lambert, 25, the son of Diff’rent Strokes star Dana Plato apparently committed suicide just a couple of days before his own mother’s death anniversary. Plato’s death by a supposedly intentional drug overdose was on May 8, 1999. This was after a number of difficulties in her career, including being fired from the sitcom she’s best known for because of her pregnancy with Tyler, then arrests for armed robbery, forging a prescription, and other suicide attempts. Lambert killed himself with a shotgun after a drug binge on May 6 of this year. He’s listed in Plato’s IMDB profile as an aspiring actor, but had no credits in his profile.
Is it just me or does it seem like far too many young Hollywood types are dying lately? I guess if you’re in any sort of limelight but your career isn’t going anywhere, it’s tough to pick up and do something else. But Lambert appears to have been troubled a long time, since his mother’s death when he was just a teen.
The video below is an audio clip taped on the Howard Stern show the day before Plato’s overdose.
