Brooke Mueller, third wife of Charlie Sheen, had it good from the moment she got married to him in May 2008, thanks to a long, detailed prenup agreement that sees her getting a reputed $55,000/ month, and ex-wife Denise Richards getting $50,000/month. That’s per month, not year — more than some of us make in a year, per wife.

Gawker has some of the details of the Sheen-Mueller 60-page prenuptial agreement. (Can you imagine loving someone so much that you need a 60-page agreement?) Here are some of the salient points in favor of Mueller.

1. $500K for getting married, paid within 6 months — kind of a like finder’s fee?
2. A $300K yearly “anniversary” allowance, with prime plus 2% interest if he defaults. The allowance is prorated in the case of divorce.
3. A share of Sheen’s Hollywood mansion, which Sheen can buy out in the case of divorce, or they can split proceeds.
4. No claim in each other’s earnings or assets, and no spousal support.
5. All her living expenses covered.
6. A relocation fee in the case of divorce, and provision for a car.

There’s more, much more, considering they have a 60-page prenup. (Interesting fact: Sheen has a watch collection worth over $5.5M but only $3,908 for his “individual retirement account assets.) Considering how much Sheen is paying out to ex- and estranged wives — roughly $125,000/month, at last count — it makes me wonder why a charmer like him even bothers getting married. California’s divorce laws are some of the toughest in country and often favor women regardless of fault, and hence might fuel the need for such prenup agreements amongst celebrities. (Though given reports of assault and menacing by Sheen, it seems clear who’s at fault.) Sure, he’s getting roughly $1.3M/episode for his role in the Two and a Half Men TV series, but if he’s not coming back to it after the end of this season, he might quickly find he’s in negative cash flow territory, should Mueller file for divorce soon. Hit comedies like Two and a Half Men don’t come along every day.
