No matter how “different” they try to make each season look, American Idol’s cliché characters never cease to pop out. There’s the dramatic hopeful, the single parent, the odd or quirky character, the rockstar wannabe, the past Idol lookalikes, the young prodigy, the underdog… and the list goes on. But we AI fans don’t care. We eat up the show like pudding. We love every cliché, drama, and suspense. We love to hate certain judges, and then feel warm inside when another judge says what’s on your mind.
Now that American Idol 9 has finally picked their top 24 contestants, we’re off to the juicy part of the show—the part where we get to watch people sing and critique them like we’re actually one of the judges.
