Susan Boyle has went from YouTube star to entertaining the Pope in just a short one year period.
Boyle’s will perform I Dreamed A Dream, from Les Miserable and then perform the hymn How Great Thou Art while an 800 person choir backs her up at the open-air Mass in Glasgow on September 16.
Susan released the following statement about her upcoming Pope performance:
“To be able to sing for the Pope is a great honor and something I’ve always dreamed of – it’s indescribable,” adding “I think the 16th of September will stand out in my memory as something I’ve always wanted to do, I’ve always wanted to sing for his Holiness and I can’t really put into words my happiness, that this wish has come true at last.”
Boyle’s went on to state:
“The Pope’s visit is a very big event for Scottish Catholics. My own faith is the backbone of my life, I pray and say the rosary each day and am very close to my religion. I am humbled and honoured by this invitation and I hope I can do my best.”
Congrats to Boyle’s for taking her meteoric rise to fame one step further. Anyone can come in second place on a talent show, but even most of the world’s top singers don’t get to perform for the Pope.
