TIDBIT: Colombia won’t be taking the crown home for the second time.
After this year’s Colombian delegate, Ariadna Gutierrez, did her walk and every ritual a supposed winner should’ve done, host Steve Harvey went in front to rectify the grave mistake he just committed.
“I will take responsibility for this. It was my mistake. It was on the card,” he tells a shocked audience in Las Vegas.
Turns out, it was Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, who truly earned the title. She, too, was confused, as she walked to the front to claim what’s rightfully hers.
“I’d like to apologize to the viewers at that I disappointed as well. Again it was an honest mistake,” the seasoned host tweets.
Still, both ladies were smart and beautiful enough for the title! Kudos, girls.
