Rumors began circulating a few days ago that Sarah Jessica Parker has been tapped by designer label Halston for a creative role in their Halston Heritage Collection.
The rumor is now confirmed. According to Papermag, SJP “will actually be a member of the company’s board and will receive equity in the company.”
If you noticed, the white dress SJP was wearing in the trailer of Sex and The City 2 is from Halston Heritage, a brand extension with retail prices ranging from $55 to $595.

Critics are already comparing this fashion move to Lindsay’s futile career move—last year she was hired as artistic adviser to Emanuel Ungaro, much to the dismay of the fashion world. SJP fans don’t need to worry; fashion insiders have already begun defending the SATC star.
“There’s a big difference from this than Lindsay Lohan,” says Suze Yalof Schwartz, Glamour’s executive fashion editor-at-large. “Lindsay’s name isn’t synonymous with fashion, whereas when you think about Sarah Jessica Parker, you think about the clothes.”
