Talk about commemorating a love one’s death, but I doubt Rihanna’s grandma would be happy about the huge ribcage ink. Everytime Rihanna changes into a fresh top, this monstrosity will now show up. Well, it’s the thought that counts honey!
Rihanna tweeted the tattoo as a tribute to her grandmother Clara Braithwaite: “Goddess Isis – Complete Woman – Model for future generations – #GRANGRANDOLLY – always in and on my heart #1love”
Rihanna is very much known for her tattoos as much as her repetitive hip hop ditties. To honor her grandmother who passed away last July after a long battle with cancer, Rihanna went for a grand ink design of the Egyptian goddess Isis with wings spread across her ribcage.
One can say the pop singer is a walking piece of tattoo real estate, a canvas to a lucky lot of tattoo artists.
Rihanna has had one too many tats- some ink exquisitely done like the very-detailed Falcon tattoo on her ankle, which the Barbados beauty revealed to be a symbol of God in her interview with Oprah.
Some of her earlier tats seemed juvenile and tacky like the trail of tattoo stars on her back.
But arguably there are the popular ones which are pretty clever like the Shh tattoo on her finger and the sexy Sanskrit prayer tattoo on her hip.
All in all, the Isis underboob tattoo is rumored to be Rihanna’s 18th tattoo, the rest of her inks include a baby pistols near her underarms, a pistol on her thigh, cross on her collarbone, skull with a red ribbon on her leg, music note on her ankle, Pisces sign behind her right ear, the word ‘love’ on her left middle finger and the ‘Rebelle Fleur’ script on her neck. And who knows what else on her hidden parts?
The Grammy-winner got her latest tat in London’s Soho distrcit, she was seen flashing her midriff taped with cling film and gauze to cover her fresh ink.
Rihanna was in London in time to perform Princess of China with Coldplay at the closing ceremony of the London Paralympics.
