It’s been over two years since Heath Ledger’s tragic death.
Yesterday would’ve been his 31st birthday. I still remember the day when they found his lifeless body in his Lower Manhattan apartment. The world mourned, not because he was just another handsome young actor who passed away tragically, but because he was a genuinely talented Hollywood actor.
He graduated from heartthrob teen roles (10 Things I Hate About You, A Knight’s Tale) and tackled more challenging characters (Brokeback Mountain, The Dark Knight), making him one of Hollywood’s most notable celebrities. When the world saw how he could go from portraying the usual knight in shining armor to disturbed schizophrenic villain, we all knew that Heath Ledger was no ordinary actor.
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus finally came out in DVD last month, and the Blue-ray version is coming soon. The movie shows Heath’s final screen performance and behind-the-scenes footage. Heath passed away before he could finish the movie, so actors Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell, and Jude Law stepped up to play his part in various sequences taking place within Parnassus’ mind.

A toast to the late Heath Ledger!
