According to Star, Bruder Construction has filed a $674,043 suit against the 42-year-old celebrity. Documents state that Anderson hasn’t paid for remodeling work done on her Malibu home. Four other construction companies have filed suits for unpaid services that include labor, remodeling materials, swimming pool renovation, and foundation costs for her guesthouse.
Also filing a suit against Anderson is Mini-Haulers, which helped her relocate to the trailer park she’s now living in while waiting for the renovation work to be completed. Mini-Haulers and Bruder have decided to file their case jointly in court.
According to people.com, Anderson also owes the government $252,360 in income tax bills and penalties dating back to 2007. “Putting food on the table isn’t easy in this economy,†said Mini-Haulers president Jim Brown. “When someone doesn’t pay their bills, it’s that much harder!â€
Anderson’s party has yet to comment, but fans (and haters alike) can’t help but look back at her appearance in the Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2007, wherein she revealed that in order to pay off her $250,000 gambling debt, she succumbed to a poker player’s sex request—and then fell in love with him.
“I was playing poker one night… and I was down about 250 grand,†she told Ellen. “He said if I made out with him, that would clear the [bet]… It worked out; I liked it. I paid off a poker debt with sexual favors and I fell in love. It’s so romantic,†she gushed.
Although she never named the guy, Hollywood insiders speculate that it was either magician Antonio Esfandiari or film producer Rick Salomon.
