Oh no! What does this spell about the show’s future?
Though the hit supernatural series The Vampire Diaries is still continuing this fall for its 7th season, things are going to change big time now that series stars Nina Dobrev and Michael Trevino aren’t renewing.
“I invite you to hop on the roller coaster ride that is Elena Gilbert‘s life and join me as I celebrate her and prepare to say goodbye to her,” says Dobrev on an Instagram post of her and series showrunner Julie Plec.
Note that Elena is an important character, whose life the Salvatore brothers’ fates got intertwined in.
Trevino’s departure was also confirmed by Plec.
“Even though he’s also going to be out in the world exploring new opportunities, we look forward to finding creative ways to make sure he and his character Tyler Lockwood always remain a part of the show,” she shares.
