Meryl Streep will be playing Julia Roberts mom in the movie August: Osage County.
Both woman are Oscar winners and they’ll be staring in a movie version of a play that won a Pulitzer price. Can we say repeat Academy Awards?
The play, written by Tracy Letts surrounds a family that begins to unravel after the death of a patriarch. Streep will take the role of the plays drug-addicted mother, while Roberts will play her daughter who discovers that her husband is having an affair with a student.
The movie will be directed by John Wells with the script written by play writer Letts.
The play debuted at Chicago’s Steppenwolf Theatre Company in 2007 and then went to Broadway and London’s West End.
