Sarah Hyland was revealed to have filed a restraining order against ex-BF Matt Prokop, who allegedly pinned her against a car, choked her, and called her an offensive name last May, as reported by TMZ.
“She just wants to leave this situation behind her,” a source tells US Weekly.
The insider adds that it could take time “before she’s ready to date again,” and that the 23-year-old is currently “focusing on work.”
Matt might have not taken the split lightly. He would “call and text her constantly and had even said some strange things about her and her dog.”
