A man working on the set of the hit CBS show NCIS died today after a driver lost control of a van on the set of the show and smashed into the man this morning.
According to law enforcement on the scene, the 60-year-old driver had a medical emergency when driving which caused him to run into the 52-year-old security guard, ending his life.
While alive after the accident, the security guard was eventually rushed to a nearby hospital and was listed in critical condition, dying a short time later.
After the accident CBS released a statement in which they said the studio is “cooperating with the local authorities in Santa Clarita to help determine what caused this terrible accident.”
NCIS production has of course been suspended as the investigation is underway.
Producers, Cast and Crew for the show released the following statement:
“With profound sympathy we mourn the tragic passing of our co-worker and friend.”
Adding:
“NCIS is a family. And, as with any family, we are deeply saddened by this unexpected loss. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones/”
