Leonard Nimoy, most famous for his portrayal of Mr. Spock on the hit Sci-Fi series Star Trek has begun recovery after having undergone “a minor benign abdominal surgery” his rep said on Friday.
The surgery forced Nimoy to miss a scheduled appearance at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art on Thursday, but otherwise his rep says he’s “recovering beautifully.”
Nimoy has most recently been seen as William Bell, founder of the multi-billion dollar Massive Dynamic on the Fox series Fringe.
