Okay so this is pretty funny, apparently Justin Timberlake now has a Facebook group that’s attempting to get him nominated for an Oscar when the awards show comes back around in February.
It’s funny because the role the Facebook group is supporting is one of Scott Fanning, the founder of Napster who helped Mark Zuckerberg build Facebook. Timberlake has a pretty big role in The Social Network, a movie that shows Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in an unflattering light as a sex craved, power hungry computer programmer and CEO.
PopEater.com started the campaign and had this to say of their decision to start the group:
“JT steps up his game in Network, injecting a cool and sinister confidence into his portrayal of Parker,” while adding that Timberlake is “the hidden gem in the best movie of the year.”
Timberlake as best supporting actor? He was great in Alpha Dog and he always makes us laugh on Saturday Night Live, so why the hell not.
