The “Prince of Darkness” Ozzy Osbourne and heartthrob Justin Bieber are teaming up for a Super Bowl commercial. The unlikely pair will be featured in a Best Buy ad as the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Green Bay Packers.
According to reports, Best Buy paid upwards of $1 million to bring both Ozzy and Bieber on-board, while they paid millions more to produce the commercial and for the right to air it during Super Bowl Sunday.
Best Buy’s Marketing Chief Drew Panayiotou revealed to USA TODAY:
“Justin Bieber is the biggest star out there, but that’s not why he’s in the spot,” he also added, “He symbolically represents something important to the brand message. Very rarely do you get a big brand looking to evolve into something else. We want to get this brand to a different place.”
The commercial will air sometime in the 3rd quarter, however details of the commercial are unknown.
During the rest of 2011 Justin Bieber has also been tapped to appear in various Best Buy Facebook ads and other various ad endorsements.
