It’s official, Jay Leno is now a Harvard man, well maybe not, but he has been named the Hasty Pudding Man of the Year by the Hasty Pudding Theatricals of Harvard University.
The drama troupe is the oldest undergraduate program of it’s kind in the United States and they annually honor an individual who entertains the masses.
According to the group Jay Leno was chosen because he has:
“Entertained millions of people over his long and accomplished career in comedy….”
Although we have the sneaking suspicion that the controversy Leno drew between himself and Conan probably helped the group pick someone they knew would generate publicity for their own annual award ceremony.
While Leno took the Man of the Year prize, the female of the year award goes to Julianne Moore, a five-time Oscar Nominee who makes more sense to us than Leno for Man Of The Year.
Leno will be present to accept the award on Friday, Feb. 4 where he will also lead a parade in his honor.
