James Van Der Beek has signed a contract to host the fourth annual LOGO ‘NewNowNext Awards” show, an awards ceremony that celebrates the accomplishments of gays and lesbians in the entertainment industry.
The former Dawson’s Creek star will MC the show while various presenters have also been announced, including; Backstreet Boy A.J. McLean, Sara Rue, Niecy Nash, Natalia Kills and Lisa Lampanelli.
As part of his duties Van Der Beek will present Lady Gaga with the NewNowNext prize for her own pop music and the outreach she has made to the gay community.
The show will take place next month at The Avalon in Hollywood.

“James Van Der Beek exemplifies how a ‘NewNowNext’ actor emerged to become a pop-culture mainstay and household name,” also adding, From his recent appearance in Ke$ha’s ‘Blow’ video to his extensive career in television, film and theater, Van Der Beek earns his rightful place to recognize the up-and-coming talent of tomorrow as host of this year’s ‘NewNowNext Awards’ 2011.”
The show will be taped in front of a live audience on April 7 and will broadcast on the LOGO network on April 11.
