After that, he also starred in two more movies which supported his stardom. First was when he played the role of Cal Trask, the loner in the movie East of Eden who featured him as one of the greatest actors of his generation. After that, he played the role of Jett Rink who was the surly farmer in the movie Giant that was released in 1956. He played the leading roles in all three films which pretty much gave him his fame. James Dean has humble beginnings being born and raised in Marion, Indiana to farmer parents. When he reached the age of eight, his parents decided to
leave farming and start anew career as dental technicians in California. James grew up being close to his mother because he believed that she was the only person who understood her whenever things in his life went wrong.
When he was in high school, he became very popular because he was the star athlete for the baseball and basketball team. However great his achievements were in sports, his academics was mediocre and his father didn’t like it. After his high school graduation, Dean decided to take up pre law but a year after he dropped the course and moved in to UCLA where he decided to take drama as a major. Perhaps this was what opened the doors for opportunity for a career in showbiz.
With his beautiful face, there was no doubt why Dean was considered as one of the hottest actors during his time. His debut as a celebrity was in a Pepsi Cola television commercial. It did not take long before he decided to quit school and go on fulltime in his budding career in acting. There was a lot in store for him but when he died, everything else came to a halt and all that was left was the memory of a cultural icon that once made people fall for his beautiful face and great acting.
