I can honestly say I saw this one coming from the moment they announced their engagement and now it’s official, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are over, with Montag filing divorce papers earlier this week. Montag filed for legal separation just two months ago.
Heidi’s lawyer Jodeane Farrell released the following statement on Friday:
“Heidi has amended her petition for separation and has filed a petition for dissolution of marriage from Spencer Pratt,” adding, “The couple has agreed they would like their divorce to be finalised in a timely manner in an out-of-court settlement. Both parties are amicable with each other over the possibility of finalising their divorce.”
The 23-year-old Montag filed a divorce petition in Santa Monica, California Superior Court and cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce.
The couple have been tabloid favorites since they hooked up while filming the MTV hit The Hills.
While the couple originally married in Mexico, they later learned those nuptials were not legal and in May 2009 they remarried in Pasadena, California.
