HBO will officially end their hit series Entourage after the 2011 season. The networks longest running series will end with a shortened final season according to Entourage producers.
HBO made the announcement on Sunday, stating that the final season would have just six episodes, that number is compared to 14 episodes during a regular season.
HBO Programming President Michael Lombardo told The Hollywood Reporter:
“The plan right now is we’ll finish up this season, we’ll do a shorter order for next season, we’ve talked about six.”
“(Creator Doug Ellin) is appropriately reserving – he wants to write a film, but wants to do it when the story will make sense. He’s pitched other shows to us. I will expect that within the next couple years (he’ll have another show on HBO). But Entourage next summer will definitely be the final season.”
Darn it, now there is almost nothing worth watching on HBO.
