Fans of the hit ’80s TV show Dynasty may soon be treated to a movie prequel for the show.
Dynasty of course focused on a rich oil producing Colorado family and their constant squabbles over various issues.
Show creator Richard Sharpiro says the movie would not begin where the last left off, but instead it would focus on what happened in the lives of Dynasty members before the show took to the airways from 1981 through 1989.
Shapiro told E! News:
“It’s not the wild and crazy 1960s, but the early Kennedy years.”
While adding:
“We’ve given thought to the movie before and we’ve been approached by a lot of companies, but no one seemed to have a proper fix on it. Then suddenly we said, ‘Let’s do it [ourselves]!’—and we’re the ones to do it,”
“It was my daughter Florie’s notion to do a prequel, and that sounded very very good to us. It’s how young Blake doesn’t realize he’s the son of Tom Carrington, but then he finds himself at the head of this company and surrounded by assassins and people who want to do him in.”
It’s a big time for old soaps, the show Dallas is also reported to be receiving a small screen revival.
