The world of soccer is crowning yet another king: Cristiano Ronaldo!
The Brazilian athlete just received the 2013 FIFA Ballon d’Or award last Monday in Zurich, meaning, he’s the current “best soccer player”.
The prestigious honor follows 66 goals in 56 club and country games, where most of them helped Madrid reach the tournament semifinals by scoring a record 14 times in Champions League.
“I am deeply moved,” the football star expresses.
His triumph also ends Argentinian athlete Lionel Messi‘s successive winning streak of four years on the award. For the 2013 edition, Messi is second, while French Franck Ribery comes next.
During the same event, Ronaldo clarified that his feud with FIFA president Sepp Blatter has already ended. It can be remembered that Blatter expressed his preference of Messi’s modest personality over that of Cristiano’s.
On social media, the athlete then said that the video “shows clearly the respect and consideration Fifa has for me” in a sarcastic tone.
“We talked over the telephone and everything was cleared,” he shares.
