It’s one thing to appreciate celebrities from the outside. You look at them on TV, on magazine covers, and potentially get star struck if you see them in person. But, if you want more than an average experience of celebrity as seen from the outside, it’s possible to get creative and manage your own celebrity lifestyle.
And this isn’t necessarily about being realistic. In fact, it’s probably more about keeping a sense of humor about your current life situation. Nonetheless, approaching the idea of personal celebrity for your own sake might involve starting with where you live, then moving on to how you look, making a personal, putting a blog out there, and then choosing your friends wisely.
Start With Where You Live
Celebrities live in cool places right? Well, find a local property management company and start vetting possible places to live from there. “Cool” doesn’t necessarily mean expensive, so far as an amateur celebrity goes, but it does mean that having a third party that understands property marketing is going to be a good idea. It’s much better for you to piggyback information off of specialist industries rather than try to figure it out on your own.
Move On To How You Look
Your next celebrity construct is going to be your appearance. Now, without the money to buy the high-end stuff, the natural next solution is going to be that you just look weird. Overdone. Glamorously out of place. And all for cheap. And that means you’re going to have to hit up your local thrift stores and look for vintage clothing. If you think about how rock stars dress up, or how celebrities go out in public, they often look like they tumbled out of a time warp. Consider that a personal challenge for yourself.
Construct a Presentation Persona
Celebrities, whether they really want to or not, are always acting. They know they’re being watched, so the react accordingly. If you want to play the celebrity game, work on creating a persona. This may be an exaggeration of your own qualities, or make it be a complete act. Enjoy the entertainment from within.
Make a Blog
Real celebrities have people that blog about them already. But if you want to play the game, create a blog about yourself. Populate it with whatever natural parts of your life seem interesting, odd, or quirky, and have fun learning about technology in the process as well.
Choose Your Friends Wisely
Celebrities have interesting sets of friends. They may have other celebrity friends, or they may have some sort of entourage. It’s up to you whether you want to be the center of attention in your particular group, but having the right collection of looks and personalities is going to be a big part of how you’re perceived.
