Conan O’Brien and his writers may have a new gig at TBS, but The New York Post is reporting that his writing and other staffers are not happy about pay cuts they’ll be forced to take.
An insider close to the deal told The Post:
“One show was broadcast network; the other is basic cable. It’s a different pay scale. It’s not just writers; it’s everybody.”
O’Brien and his writers have been touring the country as part of Conan’s “The Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour” as they waited for his new show to star, a show that couldn’t legally begin until November based on an exit contract O’Brien agreed upon with NBC.
Conan O’Brien will officially return to television on November 8th and at this time the Writers Guild of America is still negotiating his writers pay.
