Lively is most well known for her role on the popular TV show Gossip Girl, while Reynolds has starred in television shows and numerous films, including National Lampoons Van Wilder and Blade Trinity.
Avril Lavigne and Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger
This was another celebrity engagement that caught quite a few people off guard, as they had managed to keep their blossoming relationship quite secret. The two Canadian rock musicians, Lavigne, 27, and Kroeger, 37, had only been dating for around 6 months when they announced their engagement in early August. Lavigne is most well known for songs such as Sk8er Boi and When Youre Gone, while Kroeger is the front man and lead singer for the band Nickelback, who are most well known for songs such as How You Remind Me.
Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux
The two actors were engaged in early August, after Theroux proposed during the celebration of his 41st birthday. They have been romantically linked since early 2011. Aniston, 43, and Theroux, 41, starred together in the film Wanderlust, which may or may not be how they first met. Aniston, most notable for her role as Rachel in the television show Friends was previously part of another famous celebrity couple when she was married to Brad Pitt for almost five years, until rumors started circulating about Pitts affair with Angeline Jolie.
Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied
The couple was married in a Jewish ceremony in early August, still not a fan of Natalie’s dress. The couple first announced their engagement in late 2010 when they also announced Portmans pregnancy. In June 2011, Portman gave birth the couples son, Aleph. They first met on the set of the film Black Swan, where Millepied, 35, worked as a ballet choreographer and also had a brief cameo in the film for which Portman, 31, won an Oscar for Best Actress.
Rosie O’Donnell and Michelle Rounds
This famous lesbian couple shocked the world when they wed in early June in New York City, although they waited several months before actually announcing that they had married. They first met in 2011, and ODonnell, 50, announced her engagement to Rounds, 40, during a filming of The Rosie ODonnell Show in early December 2011. The couple also made shockwaves when they announced that they were planning on having a child together and Rounds was visiting a fertility doctor. It has also been reported that Rounds had to sign a very strict pre-nuptial agreement where she receives none of ODonnells wealth or assets should they every divorce.
