Let’s just say that Ben Affleck is experiencing some miraculous career rebirth.
Warner Bros. has just announced the actor’s involvement in the planned Man of Steel sequel as ‘Batman’.
Referred to tentatively as Superman vs. Batman, the future blockbuster is expected to hit theaters on July 17, 2015 with Zack Snyder at the helm.
“Ben provides an interesting counter-balance to Henry’s Superman,” the director says.
“He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retains the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne. I can’t wait to work with him.”
We bet the ladies can’t wait to see him alongside Henry Cavill in those hot action sequences.
Also returning are Amy Adams and Laurence Fishburne, reprising the roles as Lois Lane and Perry White, respectively.
That’s not all for the future caped crusader, though.
He will also play Nick in the upcoming movie adaptation of the best-selling novel Gone Girl, as well as the corrupt Ivan Block on the action-thriller Runner Runner, out in theaters this September.
Argo is indeed a blessing.
