Gleeks get ready, Britney Spears will be invading the show on September 28th according to show creator Ryan Murphy.
Ryan talked about the Spears appearance on the syndicated radio show On-Air With Ryan Seacrest:
““I will give you a little scoop, which is that Britney will 100% be on the episode, which is exciting. She’s going to come and join us and do a couple scenes,”
The episode is titled “Britney/Brittany” and will appear as the show enters its second season.
Spears will appear in a drug induced fantasy land, no seriously, she’ll appear to the cast members as they are under anesthesia at the dentist.
According to Murphy:
“They have fantasies of how they can be like her.”
For Britney haters, don’t expect the Glee cast to go on the attack:
“We are doing a Britney episode and people do have certain expectations because the show is sarcastic. But the Britney episode is so reverential about her, and it’s so kind and it’s about her music. It’s not about her personal life, and I think Britney Spears is essential to pop culture, and I want to say thank you for what you’ve done, and we’re encouraging you to continue to be doing as fantastic as you do. So that’s not true. We’re handling Britney with kid gloves,” Murphy explained to Ryan Seacrest during a taping of his nationally syndicated radio show. Murphy added, “I really admire what she’s done with her life and how she’s turned herself around.”
