The Black Keys have canceled their Australia tour citing exhaustion as a cause for their break. The Keys were set to tour Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne. The Keys have also canceled stops in New Zealand, Germany, Switzerland and France, dates extending all the way through March 2011.
The group released a statement apologizing to fans for the sudden cancellations:
“An arduous year of touring and promotion has drained the band and necessitated time off. Dan and Patrick wish to thank all of you who have shown such incredible support since the release of (2010 album) Brothers and have helped make the album a success.”
Seriously Black Keys? One year on the road and you’re calling it quits for a while? It makes us further appreciate the non-stop touring of just about every other big band currently on the road.
