Betty White gets her own reality TV show! America’s well loved senior citizen will host 12 episodes of the NBC reality show titled Betty White’s Off Their Rockers in which hidden-cameras capture senior citizens playing pranks on youngsters.
NBC announced on Thursday that the program was being developed and that it comes from a Belgian program that has also been successful in various Europoean countries and South Korea.
When asked about the title of the series Betty White said:
“People have been telling me that I’m ‘off my rocker’ for years — now I can prove it.”
White joins forces with six other senior citizens who will play pranks on “the unsuspecting youth of America.”
It’s a welcomed return to NBC for Betty White who helped propel The Golden Girls to stardom, while her Saturday Night Live appearance won an Emmy and is considered by many (this writer included) to be one of the best episodes of the sketch show in years.
No air date for the show has been announced, however with Hot In Cleveland picked up for a third season and her new book If You Ask Me (And of Course You Won’t) being released by Penguin Publishers on May 3, it may be a little while.
Betty White may just be the hardest working person in Hollywood.
