Bart and Homer Simpson aren’t only hilarious, according to a recent proclamation from the Vatican, the Simpsons characters are also Catholic.
According to the L’Osservatore Romano “Few people know it, and he does everything he can to hide it, but it is true: Homer J Simpson is a Catholic.”
The L’Osservatore Romano is regarded as a semi-official publication for Vatican news and they offer several examples for why Homer is considered catholic, for example they state “recites prayers before meals and, in their own peculiar way, believes in the life thereafter.”
Apparently skipping church on a regular basis is okay for Homer since he prays on a regular basis.

Other examples they believe in Catholic tenants? They are constantly involved with the after life, even if it’s a skewed view of death, they have plenty of family time, even if Homer is constantly choking Bart and they help out friends and family, when not taking advantage of them.
