At such a young age, the actress has been through a lot of issues already.
‘Modern Family‘ star Ariel Winter paid Ellen DeGeneres a visit to talk about some pretty personal stuff, such as her recent emancipation from mom Chrystal Workman, due to physical and emotional abuse.
“From 14-17 [years old] it was a legal custody battle. My sister was granted temporary custody first and then when I was 17 in the beginning of the year she was granted permanent custody,” the actress says of her sister Shanelle Workman.
As for her breast reduction surgery, the 18-year-old shares that she only did what she had to do.
An empowered Winter states, “[It] was already very hard to grow up in front of the public and also have your body changing, and then go through a surgery, which I decided to make public because I thought it was very important to talk to women about it in general, because i know there are so many people who have been in my position who needed the surgery.”
