In a recent interview with Vogue magazine, full-lipped vixen 37-year-old Angelina Jolie revealed all about her & Brad Pitt’s relationship. From their kids to a fear of intimacy to how she fell in love with 43-year-old Pitt, this is one of the most telling interviews of their relationship. Or is it? Back to that one later.
Angelina & Brad have been pretty open these days, what with their first red carpet walk Monday for the premiere of Jolie’s new film The Good Shepherd, and this new interviews, they’re out there & ready to take it, it would seem.
In the highly sought after interview, Angelina reveals how the two fell in love, accidentally.
“I think we were the last two people who were looking for a relationship. I certainly wasn’t,” Jolie stated.
“I was quite content to be a single mom.”
But when the two actors started work on Mr. & Mrs. Smith, it was clear there was something brewing, Jolie admits that “a few months in I realized, ‘God, I can’t wait to get to work.’â€
“Whether it was shooting a scene or arguing about a scene or gun practice or dance class or doing stunts – anything we had to do with each other, we just found a lot of joy in it together and a lot of real teamwork. We just became kind of a pair.”
Angelina clears up (or does she?) some of the air about whether a real relationship began during the filming of Mr. & Mrs. Smith or after filming.
“And it took until, really, the end of the shoot for us, I think, to realize that it might mean something more than we’d earlier allowed ourselves to believe,” she states.
“And both knowing that the reality of that was a big thing, something that was going to take a lot of serious consideration.”
Angelina reveals that she & Brad talked a lot about making a go of it & remained “very, very good friends” after the filming for the movie was over. But when Jennifer Aniston & Brad Pitt divorced in the spring of 2005, Jolie stated that “life developed in a way where we could be together, where it felt like something we would do, we should do.”
On top of being a great father to their three children, Jolie said that Brad has “wicked sense of humor” & “He’s a great challenge to me.”
“We’re constantly in competition with each other,” she says. “He’s somebody I admire based on the way he lives his life.”
Angelina Jolie stated that she has no plans to marry Brad Pitt, that they are committed parents.Â
“We both have been married before, so it’s not marriage that’s necessarily kept some people together,â€Â Angelina reveals.
“We are legally bound to our children, not to each other, and I think that’s the most important thing.â€
But the real kicker to me, is Jolie’s strong sense of fear regarding intimacy.
I don’t trust anyone,†Jolie admitted.
“I don’t think it’s a good thing. This is going to make you think that maybe I should get some therapy, but trust is such a bizarre word. I’d like to say that I trust my mother, but I also don’t know if she might do something that she thinks is in my best interest.
Still, “I trust Brad will never do anything,†she said.
But after a few moments, Jolie then added, “I don’t know. I don’t trust anybody completely.â€
“I’m not a hugger. People make fun of me. It’s something that I have a hard time with. If someone hugs me, I hold my breath. Snuggling, cuddling, hugging, crying . . . all that stuff makes me very uncomfortable.”
Wow. She doesn’t truly trust Brad Pitt. That is a whopper of a statement not only about their relationship, but for her emotional welfare. What has happened to Angelina that she doesn’t trust anyone? Does it have something to do with why she hasn’t spoken with father Jon Voight in five years? Does she really have the capacity to love, if she doesn’t trust? This has really opened a door into Jolie’s mind, this interview- but only if she wasn’t acting the whole thing. You never know, if you can’t trust anyone.
What do you think- Has this Vogue interview changed the way you view Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt’s relationship? Will Angelina & Brad ever marry?
