For more 90’s nostalgia, VH1 just premiered the much-awaited TLC biopic, CrazySexyCool: The TLC Biopic, and it was more than any fan has bargained for.
Drew Sidora, Keke Palmer, and Lil’ Mama were all so spot-on in playing T-Boz, Chilli, and Left Eye, respectively, that the resemblance was simply uncanny. (WATCH THE TRAILER HERE.)
As a plus, the surviving members were actually amazed with Lil’ Mama’s portrayal of the late Lisa Lopes.
“The founding members were apparently so impressed with Lil Mama’s performance that they invited the rapper to make a special appearance with them at Saturday’s Mixtape Festival in Hershey, Penn.,” says Billboard.com.
However, with regards to the idea of replacing the original Left Eye, T-Boz made it clear that “no one will ever be a member in this group. Ever.”
Since VH1 produced this, it only felt natural that music — the music videos, the Behind the Scenes interview, and the concerts — took centerstage, and even relived!
It’s a good thing that the real TLC actually lobbied this, or else it would’ve become a good example of copyright infringement.
