‘Gleeks’ are deeply mourning for the loss of one of the show’s pioneering stars – Cory Monteith, a.k.a. Finn Hudson.
The actor was reported to be staying at the Fairmont Pacific Hotel, where he missed his check out time. Then, just after noon, his corpse was discovered alone on his room at the 21st floor.
There were no signs of foul play, according to Acting Vancouver Police Chief Doug LaPard.
Monteith wasn’t with his girlfriend, Glee co-star Lea Michele, at the time of his death. Michele was seen in Mexico on July 9th, while he checked in at the Vancouver hotel on July 6.
LaPard has divulged that the news has already reached his family, and that he has deceased hours before the discovery.
Vancouver’s police department reports that a surveillance video showed the Glee star returning to his hotel room alone in the wee hours.
Cory’s representative confirms the news to E!, “We are so saddened to confirm that the reports on the death of Cory Monteith are accurate. We are in shock and mourning this tragic loss.”
Monteith recently finished a stint at rehab due to substance addiction, with much support from Lea.
