Charlie Hunnam out, Jamie Dornan in for the forthcoming adaptation of “50 Shades Of Grey”.
The Hollywood Reporter has caught wind of Universal and Focus’ new casting decision for the coveted role of Christian Grey — Dornan takes the cake!
It can be recalled that the role’s previous entrant, Hunnam, relinquished his task in a controversial manner; reportedly, he didn’t like the script.
The Brit actor was revealed not too long ago as one of the replacements.
He was called on by the studio for a screen test with Dakota Johnson for important people such as director Sam Taylor-Johnson and author EL James, among others.
Looks like he charmed the producers out of their wits.
Right now, Universal is on a bit of a rush to jumpstart the production, especially since it has set a release date on August 1, 2014.
If the film does become successful, Dornan might be attached to star in a few more films based on the smash 50 Shades books.
Juno Temple and Frank Grillo have already been cast in the feature’s supporting roles, respectively.
